Learning outcomes

ON COMPLETION OF THIS MODULE, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO: 

  • Describe the multi-faceted role of primary care providers in assessing and managing occupational cancer exposure.
  • Identify common occupational carcinogens and the occupations most at risk of exposure.
  • Identify cancers linked to workplace exposures.
  • Outline considerations for taking a patient's exposure history.
  • Outline the process of assisting patients who have been diagnosed with a work-related cancer with seeking workers' compensation and/or returning to work.
